\n7054<\/span> Page-views<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/iframe>\n\n\n\nATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD )<\/p>\n\n\n\nin this video we will speak about ADHD It is the most common neurological behavioural disorders of childhood It is estimated to effect 3 to 5 percent of school aged children , it is particularly seen in boys . 60 to 80 percent of the children continue to have it through adolescence.<\/p>\n\n\n\nNow how do we define ADHD ?<\/p>\n\n\n\nIf the child is having persistant hyperactivity, in attention and impulsivity which is interfering with day to day functioning development of a child . then that\u2019s called ADHD . that means the child will not listen or obey any of the given commands, he or she will be extremely active , like talking non stop , fidgets with hands and feet . He or she will be often forgetful in daily activities which indicates in attentive behaviour , often makes careless mistakes in schoolwork\u2019s or other activities , day dreams , the child becomes easily confused , he or she will have difficulty in processing information as quickly as others. He or she will blurt out answers to questions which indicates impulsive behaviour , often interrupts conversations or others activities<\/p>\n\n\n\nNow what are the etiology ? For most children no etilology is identified. But both genetic and environmental factors play a role .<\/p>\n\n\n\nthe onset is from less than 12 years of age persistant for Atleast 6 months in Atleast two different settings like school or home or play area without any underlying secondary cause .<\/p>\n\n\n\nWhat are the risk factors ? . maternal smoking , alcohol , leaf exposure, mercury exposure . Due to CNS malformation\/ trauma . . Psychological family stress<\/p>\n\n\n\nManagement ? How do we manage this ? .
