So what is conduct disorder ?
It is characterised by aggressive and destructive activities that cause disruptions in the child’s natural environments such as home , school or the neighbourhood.
The feature is the repititive and persistant pattern of behaviours that violate societal norms and the rights of other people, for Atleast for a period of 1 year .
It is estimated at 9 percent for boys and 2 percent for girls .
Now what are the symptoms .
. Aggressive conduct that causes or threatens physical harm to other people or animals
.serious violations of rules
. Deceitfulness or theft .
Now how do we manage it ?
. Behavioural therapy is recommended
. The child is taught coping anger , peer coping and problem solving skills .
