What is Disruptive behaviour Disorder ?
This term encompasses a broad range of behaviours that bring children into conflict with their environment .

Now how do we identify oppositional defiant disorder ?
It is a repititive and persistent pattern of opposition , defiant , disobedient and disruptive behaviour towards authority figures persisting for at least 6 months .

Symptoms:
. Persistant stubbornness and refusal to comply with instructions or unwillingness to compromise with adults or peers
. failure to accept responsibility
. Blaming others for ones mistakes.

. Frequently losing temper

Now what’s the etiological factors ?
. It is thought to result from interplay of factors in child’s characteristics, parental interactions and environmental factors .
. History of mental health problems such as depression,ADHD

Now how do we manage it ?
. The managemt should be behavioural therapy
Which includes focusing on alleviating known risk factors or stresses that might be contributing to the oppositional disorder .
. Enhancing parents skill in conflict resolution
. Use of stimulant medication is effective on patients with ADHD.
